Learn to Fish Rodeo

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Activities: Fishing, Free Fun Weekend, Free Fishing Weekend, Outdoor activity, Outdoor skills
Location: Kettle Moraine SF – Northern Unit

Let the fishing fun begin! The rodeo includes Backyard Bass Casting, Fill the Tackle Box, Fishing Regulations Quiz, Avoiding Hazards, Knots Tie-up, What’s that Fish? and Baiting your Hook. After completing the rodeo, experienced anglers on the fishing pier will help hone your newly acquired skills. Special surprises and prizes await all who participate. Bring your own gear or fishing gear will be provided for those who need it. No fishing license needed since it is Free Fishing Weekend. Location: Long Lake Recreation Area Fishing Pier (off Division Road north of County Road F near Dundee). Get Directions – Long Lake Recreation Area.

Optimist Club 17th Annual Jr Fisheree @ Lake Mills Mill Pond

On June 4, the annual Optimist Club junior fisheree will take place at the Lake Mills Fire Department. This event will be put on in conjunction with the Wisconsin DNR free fishing weekend. Kids 11 and under are encouraged to come down and the Optimist Club will supply bait, fishing poles if needed and food. Come meet new warden Wallace as she will be there to answer questions. There will be door prizes and prizes for biggest fish and smallest fish. The contest will start at 9 a.m. and goes until 11 a.m.

Take A Kid Fishing Day – Fort Atkinson

The American Legion Post 166 hosts
3rd Annual Fishing Derby held on June 4th. Donations can be sent to: 201 S Water St. E. Fort Atkinson Wi 53538

at 201 S. Water St. W. in Fort Atkinson.
This Fishing Derby is Open to both Kids (free under 16yr) and Adults ($15).
As this is also Free Fishing Weekend in Wisconsin you will not need a WI Fishing License for this event.
Residents and nonresidents are welcome!
Learn alongside the kids on Free Fishing

The Fishing Derby Itself will run from 5:00am to 1pm on JUNE 4th. Fish weighing at 1pm

The cost for the Fishing Derby will be the following.
Kids 16 and under are Free!
Adults: $15.00
including a free lunch after the Fishing Derby.
To preregister you can go to the Fort Atkinson Legion Dugout at 201 S. Water St. W. or Shell Handy Pantry at 1012 Whitewater Ave in Fort Atkinson. Please pre-Register before June 1st.
You can also Register on the day of the Fishing Derby at the Legion Dugout 5am- 9am.

Free Fun Weekend – Free Fishing Weekend In Wisconsin!

Free Fun Weekend in Wisconsin: no state park admission stickers or trail passes are required June 4-5, 2016. It is also Free Fishing Weekend when people may fish without fishing licenses or state trout stamps. Non-resident all-terrain vehicle operators do not need a non-resident trail pass to ride state ATV trails this weekend.
